Last weekend was a big football game
The 16th ranked team was in town and the game was sold out
It was a real nice day and I was riding around on my bike checking out all the pre game tailgate parties
The band was marching around campus so I followed them for awhile
They marched to the stadium but then they went down a big flight of stairs so I was going to turn around
And I noticed the visiting team cheerleaders waiting at the entrance gates
So I whizzed right over to them and shouted in a harsh tone Hey
They all looked at me expecting some mean comment
But instead I raised up my arms and looked upwards and loudly said Welcome to Pullman
I exaggerated the vowel sounds for more effect
I glanced back down at them and smiled
And they all at the same time smiled back at me
Then a second later they all at the same time said Thank You
So I had about 10 pretty cheerleaders right in front of me with big smiles looking right at me
And some were shaking their pom poms
I stayed for a few seconds and took it all in
As I was leaving I noticed the people going to the game were smiling at me and realized they were all watching
The heightened acoustics from the stadium and nearby buildings made for an amphitheater like effect
So I made myself feel good
Made the cheerleaders happy
And I entertained a crowd at the same time!
